Species: SPESSARTINE Locality: Outcrop above Ore Hill Mine, Warren, NH Specimen Size: 2.8 cm specimen - broken crystal section of orange spessartine with manganese oxide coated outer rim. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: 1701 Notes: Spessartine, the Mn garnet, Mn2+3Al2(SiO4)3, confirmed by EDS analysis. Photo taken in natural sunlight. |

Species: SPESSARTINE Locality: Outcrop above Ore Hill Mine, Warren, NH Specimen Size: 2.6 cm specimen - broken crystal section of orange spessartine with manganese oxide coated outer rim. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: 1538 Notes: Photo taken in natural sunlight. |

Species: SPESSARTINE Locality: Outcrop above Ore Hill Mine, Warren, NH Specimen Size: 6 mm manganese oxide coated spessartine garnet on 1.3 cm specimen. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: 1405 Notes: Photo taken with LED ring light. These garnets are very brittle. They were found embedded in a quartz-feldspar outcrop. They are difficult to expose as complete crystals. |

Species: FLUORITE Locality: Pike Industries Quarry, Wilton, NH Specimen Size: 3.4 cm specimen with 1 mm fluorite octahedrons (magnified view) Field Collected: Scott Rielly (2012) Catalog No.: 1833 Notes: |

Species: LAZULITE Locality: G.F. Smith Mine, Newport, NH Specimen Size: 5 cm specimen. Dark-blue lazulite zone in lower part of specimen is 1.2 cm. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: 1844 Notes: Lazulite is rare in New Hampshire. Most specimens labeled "lazulite" are actually scorzalite, the iron rich end member of the lazulite-scorzalite series. Lazulite in this G.F. Smith specimen was confirmed by EDS analysis (The actual Mg content is higher than the plot would suggest because the response of this EDS detector is low for lighter elements) |

Species: MAGNETITE Locality: Jerico Lake Dam, Berlin, NH Specimen Size: 1.1 cm magnetite crystal in 2.8 cm specimen Field Collected: (Unknown) - a gift from Anna Wilken Catalog No.: 1834 Notes: This is a natural sunlight photo. This is a little known locality. |

Species: GALENA Locality: Ore Hill Mine, Warren, NH Specimen Size: Galena crystal is 3 mm on edge Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: u466 Notes: |
